save the L Word

Alice played by Leisha Hailey.

I am sure everybody have heared the rumors but now it is officially confirmed by Showtime.

First i was thinking this can only be a joke. And i don’t wanna jump into the heat discussion that is going on inside the community. But now the cards are on the table and we have do deal with it.

With all respect to Leisha but i am not sure if this can work. I mean its the only other choice that Ilene and Showtime can have. Tibette was and will always be the best. They have both the biggest and loyalst fanbase and they have a history and a future. But lets think this Alice thing through.

Alice is a hip and modern character in the entertaiment and lifestyle art. With her Showtime and Ilene can change the Series into something lighter away from a drama series more to a comedy like Weeds and some parts Californication. Alice is full into that fasion, radio and tv business. And without knowing what will happen in Season 6 its pretty obvious that she will break up with Tasha.

And she has no real bounding to the others. Ok she is a long time friend of Bette but for me she never was so close to the core of L Word (Tibette ) like Shane. So its easy to move her away to another City so she can start her “own” life without destroying the hole L Word gang for a possible movie in the future.

But i honestly don’t think that the character of Alice has the potential for some real storys. Alice never acted like a real adult and she never had a real good relationship to someone. But maybe IC will change her character in Season 6 to split her up later. We will see.

I am still in shock mode and its so surreal that the Spin-off is not a Tibette one. I personally don’t know Leisha personally so its hard to say but i read some really rude things about her and how she react to fans. But i can not judge about this because i was not there. But it makes me worry sick that she stated officially that its time to end for the L Word and that she has no interest in continue her work and she will move on …. and then suddenly all things chance. I am not sure if this is a way to pull fans to her side.

But we will see what happens and how Season 6 goes and into what direction the Spin-off goes.

But i have one request to all Fans out there. Please have respect for the Actors and don’t attack them now only because you are disappointed.

The L Word is not over. We still can get movies or webisodes or stories over ourchart….. Jennifer is still close bounded to Showtime and Ilene over Ourchart and the rumors about Laurels deal with FOX are only rumors as far as i know. So lets just continue and see what will happen. Please keep sign the petition (BUT ONLY ONCE) and send the emails and postcards to Showtime and Ilene. Its important that they know what the fans out there want. And please still support Jennifer and Laurel on her future projects.

You never know what will happen but we HAVE to believe.
